I read Danzy Senna’s New People and I couldn’t always tell what was eye-rolling satire and what was earnest social commentary. I assumed that the ambiguity was intentional, and I respected the game even if it drove me a little crazy. Does Colored Television have the same ambiguity?

Ah, I haven’t read New People, that’s next on my list. But I’d say the satire in this is definitely more overt.
